Rhyl Vets win the Vets Cup

Written by The North East Welsh FA, May 22, 2019

In a closely contested game it was the Vets from Rhyl who overcame Shotton Steel to take the title 2-1.  On a cold wet day, both teams played some good stuff in what was a very competitive game.  Rhyl took the lead after 11 minutes only to see Shotton equalise right on half time.  It was mid way through the second half that the deciding goal was scored and for the first time in the history of the competition it was Rhyl Vets who have their name on the trophy.  Congratulations to both teams on making the final and for the quality of the match that was played.  Well done to Rhyl Vets who will be looking forward to trying to defend the trophy next season.
